Photograph Your Favorite Places at Their Best Times

You know how much I firmly believe in taking photos in places that are meaningful to you. I specifically love shooting in your homes, but I understand that in-home is not always possible or desirable for a myriad of reasons.

When in-home isn't possible, I urge my families to choose places that are meaningful to them. Easy enough, right? Well, there's one more consideration you should make when planning you session. So many people automatically schedule photos in the fall. If your special places are where the leaves change and where sweaters are your jam, then go for it. Most of our special places are also tied to a special time of year. Maybe it's spring when the flowers are blooming or summer when your kids run around in diapers all day. Whatever time of year is the most meaningful to you is when you should do your family photos!

This family owns a winery in Sonoma and for them, spring is that time. The wildflowers are blooming, and the vines are just starting to bud. Their little girls run around in skirts and wellies and it's a season of renewal for them. They specifically wanted photos of the property in full bloom and I'm so glad we did them. They are nothing short of magical.

This is one of the most commented on sessions on my social media. People always ask where it is and honestly, that's one of my favorite things about seeing your favorite spots at their best times. THEY CAN'T BE BEAT. They are way better than iconic locations or some random field because they are specific to you, at their very best time, in all of their glory.
