Location Spotlight: Woods and Bridge

If you are looking for an outdoor session, whether that be for maternity or family photos, I have six outdoor locations to choose from between San Francisco and Marin County.

After years and years of scouting, I picked these six because they represent my most requested types of locations, are easily accessible, aren’t crowded and they are just my favorites because they photograph so well and let each family shine! They also represent a range of time frames when we can begin shoots so if you want that sunset light, you can choose one location, and if you need to work around bedtimes and have an earlier start time, I have that covered, too!

The woods and bridge location is in Novato in North Marin. It is so versatile with an awesome bridge, foliage, a huge tree with exposed roots, and a creek. While most of the foliage is evergreen, there are some fall colors in October and November. The water level in the creek also fluctuates with the season and rainfall.

Because of it’s versatility and ease (it’s right off the parking lot!), this location can be chosen for a full session, but it’s also the site of my mini sessions, which are open to repeat clients.

If you choose this spot, we begin your session 1.5 hours before sunset. It let’s in beautiful light for the trees and some shade for some seriously beautiful portraits. To see a full gallery from this location, click here.
